Updates to the Jamestown Rhode Race
After meeting with Jamestown Town Officials, they have let us know that we will be unable to hold the race on Saturday.  As Jamestown is on Conanicut Island, the wind and storm surge are a much bigger factor than it is on much of the mainland and with high tide at the same time as the race, it would be too unsafe for our runners, spectators, volunteers, family and friends to continue to host the event.  

Please know that we did not come to this decision lightly. We know many of you planned on this event and have spent many hours training.  As runners ourselves, we understand what goes into preparation for a half marathon. Our hearts are broken to have to deliver this news.  We did everything in our power to host the event.

As far as rescheduling with Jamestown, unfortunately, our event site - Fort Getty - is booked for any available rescheduled date before the end of October.

To that end, our rescheduled date option will be in Narragansett on October 25th with the Ocean State Rhode Race.  There will be no action on your part to participate in that half marathon.  All current Jamestown participants will be running the Narragansett half marathon course on October 25th.  You will receive your Jamestown shirt, medal and bib at that race.  You do not have to reserve race day bib pick up, you can pick up your bib at any of the posted dates and times and join us at the starting line at Narragansett Town Beach at 8am.  There will be a separate check in line just for our Jamestown participants.  All race information is available here - https://rhoderaces.com/events/narragansett/

If you are unable to run with us on 10/25, you are welcome to join us at the Wine Run in Sakonnet on 10/17.  You are able to make that free transfer into that event by using the instructions below.

You are also able to convert to a virtual event and we will mail the Jamestown shirt and medal to you next week.

All transfers to the Wine Run or virtual must be completed by Saturday morning, 9/26 at 7am.

Again, our deepest apologies.  We know this is not the news you wish to hear, and we are incredibly sad that we cannot host you on Saturday.  Please be safe in the upcoming storm.
To Transfer to the Wine Run or to Virtual
1. Sign In to RunSignUp
2. Go to your Profile
3. Click My Registered Races
4. Click View/Edit next to the registration that you would like to transfer
5. Click the Transfer to Another Race (for the Wine Run) or Transfer Event (to change to virtual) menu item
6. Find the race that you would like to transfer into and click the Start Transfer button
7. Register for the new race, and your Race Transfer Credit will be applied at the checkout
